Tomorrow - Friday:
Next Week's Assemblies:
Spirit Day - make sure to wear your school colors on Thursday, June 11th. There is also an assembly that afternoon. The All Virtues Assembly will begin @ 2:35pm on Thursday, June 11th.
The last POPCORN DAY before summer break:
Popcorn Day is when the kids can buy a bag(s) of popcorn for $0.25 during their lunch recess. There is a limit of TWO bags of popcorn per student. It is popped on site (at the school) by our PTO volunteers. Sometimes we have other items available for sale at this time, too. Usually ranging from $0.25 to $1.00 depending on what it is. Usually there are limits on the number available per student for those items, too. Flyers with more details are sent home beforehand.
Popping starts early - Jeff gets there before school starts. If anyone is available to help bag/box popcorn for a while or to help sell it during the lunchtime recesses, please let us know ASAP. It's appreciated.
A big "thank you" goes to Jeff Scheeler for being our Popcorn Day Chairperson again for next year! Without a PTO board, chairpeople, and volunteers, events like this wouldn't be possible. If you are interested in learning about future board/chair positions or volunteer opportunities, please feel free to contact us. Thanks!
For 6th Graders & their families:
The school year is coming to an end quickly. Our 6th graders are almost out of elementary school! Towards the end of each school year, we like to provide the 6th graders with a special celebration just for them. It's time for them to have some fun knowing that they have made it through their elementary days and will be on their way to middle school...
This year, the 6th graders will have their "Moving Up Day" event, which will be followed by this special afternoon party at Millennium. This 6th grade celebration is on Monday, June 15th. So, when they finish up with their morning/lunch event, they will get to have some afternoon fun, too. However, in order for the party to happen, we need volunteers. The plan is that there will be a bouncy obstacle course for them, sodas, and a treat. We need a few adult volunteers to supervise the bouncy obstacle course. Only so many kids can run/bounce through at a time, they will need to remove their shoes, glasses, jewelry, and any other accessories that could pop the bouncy, etc. More detailed directions and set-up to prepare for this event will begin at 12:30 pm and we should clean-up by 3:30 pm - in time for school dismissal. Please let me (Candie Meyer) know ASAP if you can help or have any questions. Thanks!
Wrapping up the 2014-15 school year...
Thursday, June 18th is the LAST DAY of this school year! Good luck to all the 6th graders moving on to middles school. We hope to see the rest of you back again in the fall. Have a wonderful summer break!!!
